Happy First Birthday to my answered prayer!

I could not control my excitement in planning my princess's first birthday party. A friend of mine chose the theme of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and was so kind to pass her decorations down to me. With the theme in mind, I began the planning. A lot of emotions poured through me as I reminisced the past year.  Time needs to just slow down a bit. It seriously seems like yesterday that she was kicking and punching in my belly. This baby girl was a true answered prayer for me and has brightened her daddy's smile from first sight. On February 22,2013 we rushed to the delivery room not knowing if we would have her that morning or not. We ended up having her and counted our blessings for our special angel arriving healthy.

Just comparing my baby girl to her theme makes me giggle. She was like the tiny caterpillar, hungry all the time and is blossoming into a beautiful butterfly. I decided to go with the simple fruit from the book, sausage and cheese, and cupcakes for the food.
My sister was a lifesaver decorating the cupcakes.
The birthday banner was made from paper plates and construction paper letter cut outs.
For her "I am one" banner, I used paper plates again.

The smash cake was made by Brandon's mom. I think it turned out perfect.
This was one of my favorites. I strung the balloons together, taped them, and pinned them to my fireplace. I placed paper caterpillars from dollar tree mixed with handmade ones through out my house.
This theme was perfect and so simple. If you're looking to party on a budget, always stick with a book theme.

Happy birthday Aimree Lou!

The outfit was purchased off Etsy from Amanda Tobin.
