What a Great Day!

I don't blog enough, but when I have a great day and want to remember it forever, I have to write it down. It would of been absolutely perfect had Brandon been with us, but he had a softball tournament. Nevertheless, we woke up and had a nice breakfast together and quickly got dressed. The kids and I went to Pink Palace Museum in Memphis.  Axton loved the fossils, and I was impressed at how much he knew. He is such a smart kid, and I had many proud mommy moments. Aimree laughed at the birds and animals. They both loved the robotics. At 4, we watched A Bugs' Life. Aimree fell asleep less than half way through it. Axton hugged me so many times for today and said thank you over and over. I cooked their favorite meal for dinner-spaghetti!! Ax and I cleaned the kitchen and set the table up for game night. We played jenga and catch a fish together. We ended the night watching a movie cuddled on the couch. I thank God for my babies everyday and try to never take a second of life for granted.

Happy First Birthday to my answered prayer!

I could not control my excitement in planning my princess's first birthday party. A friend of mine chose the theme of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and was so kind to pass her decorations down to me. With the theme in mind, I began the planning. A lot of emotions poured through me as I reminisced the past year.  Time needs to just slow down a bit. It seriously seems like yesterday that she was kicking and punching in my belly. This baby girl was a true answered prayer for me and has brightened her daddy's smile from first sight. On February 22,2013 we rushed to the delivery room not knowing if we would have her that morning or not. We ended up having her and counted our blessings for our special angel arriving healthy.

Just comparing my baby girl to her theme makes me giggle. She was like the tiny caterpillar, hungry all the time and is blossoming into a beautiful butterfly. I decided to go with the simple fruit from the book, sausage and cheese, and cupcakes for the food.
My sister was a lifesaver decorating the cupcakes.
The birthday banner was made from paper plates and construction paper letter cut outs.
For her "I am one" banner, I used paper plates again.

The smash cake was made by Brandon's mom. I think it turned out perfect.
This was one of my favorites. I strung the balloons together, taped them, and pinned them to my fireplace. I placed paper caterpillars from dollar tree mixed with handmade ones through out my house.
This theme was perfect and so simple. If you're looking to party on a budget, always stick with a book theme.

Happy birthday Aimree Lou!

The outfit was purchased off Etsy from Amanda Tobin.

(More pictures from my good camera will be posted as soon as we purchase a new charger for our computer.)

10 Months Old

My oh my how time flies! I cannot believe my baby girl is 10 months old.
Aimree Reese has the sweetest disposition. She can crawl! She started crawling shortly after she turned 9 months old. She says momma, dada, baba, hey. She just waved hello and or good bye lol two days ago! I am amazed by her. She has begun to self wean. I am kind of sad about it. Breast feeding has been rewarding and worth everything including the terrible ignorant comments people make. I learned to ignore them, because well, they are ignorant. It is natural and the reason we have breasts after all. She still nurses about 3-4 times a day. She has begun to refuse baby food, because she wants the real stuff. I can't say I blame her. She loves bananas, spaghetti, yogurt bites, mums, apples, and anything that isn't hers lol.

Axton has gotten attached to her. Everyday after school he makes sure that we are picking her up right away. I am proud of my boy, He is a great big brother. My babies have opened my eyes at the true blessing of parenthood. Here is my handsome boy at 4 years old 8 months.
Here are a few more of my girl's 10 months pics too.
