Black Sox Take the Pantry
Baseball is more than just a sport. It is a family! One thing we did together was volunteer at the Food Pantry in Olive Branch. These boys worked super hard organizing can goods. We think it is important to give back and help. This was a great way to start teaching these boys about helping our community.
Way to go Sox!
After volunteering we had our Christmas Party. The kids had fun eating, playing Dirty Santa, and video games.
Axton and Aimree Play Soccer
Soccer Season Fall 2016
Aimree played soccer for the Lasers and her coach was Mr.Rucker. It was pretty cool, because I taught one of he and Melanie's sons in 5th grade the previous year. They are a special family. Aimree did not do much playing time at the beginning. She sat on the bench and played with a dog, drank juice, twirled in circles, threw her shoes... You name it, this girlie girl did it. One day before a game, she put on a dress and fancy boots and said she was ready to go to soccer. We all laughed and knew that was more than likely our sign that she should probably be in dance or gymnastics. By the end of the season, she would run on the field and even kicked the ball a couple of times. She was super proud of herself. This mommy was proud too!!
Axton took to soccer very quickly and seemed to be pretty good. He was very fast and played all positions. His favorite was goalie. He became serious as soon as he put on that yellow jersey! He played on the Broncos' team. I enjoyed watching him grow as a soccer player. At the end of the season he decided that it was fun but baseball was more of his thing. We all know that made his Daddy's day!
